Welcome to Liverpool’s newest, all female youth choir

The Liverpool Singers Youth Ensemble was born from a vision to give young women in the city a space to sing boldly, beautifully, and with ambition. After years of watching emerging singers shine through school, community and regional settings, the founders of The Liverpool Singers recognised a missing pathway — a high-level chamber ensemble where talented young female voices could be challenged, supported and artistically stretched.

LSYE was created to become that next step.

Launching in September 2026, the ensemble brings together singers aged 14–19 who share a love of precision, expression and the thrill of ensemble music-making. The group champions the energy and clarity of upper voices, exploring repertoire that spans centuries — from soaring choral classics to bold contemporary sound worlds.

What began as an idea scribbled in rehearsal notes has quickly grown into a project filled with promise, purpose and excitement. LSYE aims not only to perform at a professional standard, but to nurture confidence, creativity and a lifelong love of singing. Each voice matters. Each singer shapes the sound. And together, they are building something new for Liverpool.

Entry to LSYE is by audition to ensure the ensemble remains focused, committed and musically strong.

Auditions will involve:

A short prepared song of your choice

Simple aural and musicianship exercises

A brief sight-reading section

A friendly chat about your experience and aspirations

We’re looking for potential, musical curiosity and enthusiasm — not perfection.
